About Us

Casa Cielo is a mountain sanctuary nestled in the Colombian Andes built and run by the Caicedo family

The property is set across five acres, just a short ride from the heart of Choachí. The house was designed and developed by Oswald Caicedo as a tribute to his mother’s hometown and childhood memories of Choachí, Colombia. Ozzie’s vision was to build a home that honored a slower, more connected way of living. He set out to create an oasis for family, future generations, and guests. This intention can be felt throughout the architecture, from the way the home is built directly into the mountain to the natural light that pours through its floor to ceiling glass windows.

As the home took shape, it was also influenced by his daughter Roxanne’s deepening study of yoga, inspiring open communal spaces that could be used for gathering, ceremony, workshops and meditation. Local craftsmanship is woven into the home, with extensive handmade woodwork by Sastoque Florez. Just outside, the gardens grow fresh herbs and vegetables free of pesticides. The farm is home to several of our neighbor’s cows, two goats— Billie and her daughter Apricot, two ducks— Dahlia and Símon, and two German Shepherds— Leo and Leia.
